The Office of First-Generation Student Success celebrates and empowers students who are the first in their family to attend college. Being first-generation student at UF is treasured and the First-Generation Success team assists students in building confidence, utilizing campus resources, and creating a support system with faculty, staff, and peers. The team also actively engages with campus offices to review policies and processes that may act as barriers to access and success for underserved populations ensuring a clear path for successful first-generation college graduates.

The various programs offered by the Office of First-Generation Student Success aim to increase the success of all first-generation students at UF.

Specifically, we help students:

o Develop college success strategies

o Build academic and professional confidence

o Understand their first-generation identity

o Connect to peer and professional mentors

o Access campus resources
