Welcome to the First-Generation Student Success website! The term first-generation refers to students who are the first in their families to attend college. More specifically, it means that a student’s parents have not earned a bachelor’s degree. Students who have siblings in college but whose parents did not earn a bachelor’s degree are considered first-generation. Our office is here to provide UF first-generation students with opportunities and resources to navigate towards a successful college experience. Please feel free to look around our site to learn more about the different opportunities you can get involved with.

.

The various programs offered by the Office of First-Generation Student Success aim to increase the success of all first-generation students at UF.

.

Specifically, we help students:

o Develop college success strategies

o Build academic and professional confidence

o Understand their first-generation identity

o Connect to peer and professional mentors

o Access campus resources

.

Our office is located in 155 Tigert Hall, Vice President for Student Affairs
